I'm not sure how scientific this is, but research by MoneySupermarket has found O2 to be the top dog when it comes to 8Mb broadband. In tests it was found to be providing 5.4 Mb - a fair bit faster than compeititors.
It's a good news story for O2 but still a sad reminder that advertised speeds do not reflect real speeds. About time the Office of Fair Trading got on the case.
Sky and TalkTalk were in second and third place.
Sadly all these services are only available as a package with other services.
