There are few more iconic voices on the underground that that of the woman who recorded the words 'Mind the Gap', which is played to commuters alighting from trains on platforms where the gap between train and platform is larger than normal.
But the voice behind the announcement is no more. Emma Clarke, was sacked by Transport for London after it found she had made spoof announcements on her own web site. The spoofs mock Americans, sweaty people, and lecheroous passengers.
