Apple chases off iPhone fan sites

IphoneApple is taking legal action against any web sites or publications using the iPhone name, according to Slashphone, which says it was personally warned by Steve Jobs not to use the i-word in its naming of sister website MYiPhone (now changed to MYiTablet). In the UK it looks as if Shiny Media has got away with its iPhonic site, but only time will tell.

Meanwhile while we are on matters iPhone, it is worth noting that Carphone is out and about this week creating a bit of a froth before sales of the phone begin at 6pm next Friday. It says it plans to sell 10,000 phones in one day from its 800 stores. With only online, O2 and Apple shops to compete with, it should have a chance of coming out top dog after i-Day.
