Quran goes mobile

Quran With the current America Vs Islamic world tussles, it is perhaps ironic that an American firm has come out with a very godly piece of technology, which will please the cleric and follower alike.

Keen to prove that IT and Religion can mix, Texas based firm Quodio has developed the digital Quran chip. The chip can be plugged into the memory expansion slots of MP3 phones and then enables the mobile to play a voice recording of the entire Quran, recited by Shaikh Saad Al Ghamidi.

The listener can scroll through the phone's menu to select any of the Quran's 114 different suras, or to move to a new page.

"With this new breakthrough technology, the Quran is always with you," said Quodio founder Talal Itani.

The Quran chip is completely compatible with Motorola, Samsung, LG, Blackberry, Sanyo and Nokia MP3 phones. (Ankush Chibber)
